Today we read Matthew 11. Jesus gives us rest. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. This does not mean that *life* as a Christian is always easy because the world will often oppose us. It means that Jesus carries all our sins and sorrows to the cross. What a gift that is!

Read Matthew 10. A key message here is that Jesus tells His followers to “have no fear” (verse 28). If you believe in Jesus Christ, even if earthly rulers might kill you for your faith in Him, your soul is safe. And you will be raised again to eternal life at the Last Day–with a new glorified body–and will forever be with Jesus and all the other believers from throughout history. That is most comforting!

Today we read Matthew 9. Towards the end of the chapter, Jesus states that the “harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” This means that there are so many people around the world who need to hear about Jesus, but there are not enough pastors–then and now. This is particularly true today in countries where Christianity is forbidden. Let us pray that the Lord would raise up many more future pastors around the world, especially in those oppressed countries, so the people can hear the Good News about Jesus and be baptized and join new churches!

Today we read Matthew 8. Here, the Evangelist Matthew reports how Jesus has the power over nature, calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee. He has the power to calm the storms in your life as well. Pray to Him and He will always give you comfort and never leave you.
