Today we read Matthew 27. Jesus actually dies on the cross. This is very important to know because there are some who falsely claim that this did not happen. Jesus voluntarily took the death penalty for your sins and mine–and for the sins of the whole world. He took our punishment, so that we will not have to pay the price for our own sins. How amazing.
