Acts 18

Today we read Acts 18: Paul continues to preach and teach that Jesus is the long-awaited Christ (= Messiah). Paul experiences much persecution for this. But the Lord says to Paul that he should go on speaking and not be silent. The Gospel eventually spread around the world and two thousand years later it has come to our generation as well. And the Holy Spirit will continue to use people to share the Good News about the forgiveness of sins and eternal life in Jesus until He returns. How wonderful!

Acts 17

Today we read Acts 17. Note how Paul refers to the “unknown god” in verse 23. Many people around the world feel spiritually empty. They are looking for a deeper meaning to life. Jesus Christ is the answer!

Acts 16

Today we read Acts 16. Note how the Holy Spirit now calls Paul and the other apostles into Europe (Macedonia). Thus, the Gospel spreads onto a new continent! Praise God!

Acts 15

Today we read Acts 15. We recently met the “circumcision party” (Acts 11), those Christians from a Jewish background who had incorrectly believed that one must believe in Jesus Christ “AND” hold to the civil ceremonial Old Testament laws (that Jesus fulfilled) to be saved. In this chapter, their false teaching is called out and corrected (Acts 15:23-29). How wonderful that Jesus has fulfilled the entire Old Testament law for us, including the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17). Indeed, we are saved *by faith* in Jesus Christ alone!
