Matthew 16

Today we read Matthew 16. Here we have Jesus’ wonderful message that the Church is His and nothing can destroy it (verse 18). No matter how hard people try to extinguish the Good News of Jesus Christ, it will always continue!

Matthew 15

Today we read Matthew 15. The remarkable meeting of Jesus and the woman from Canaan shows us that Jesus is the Savior of the whole world. Whoever you are and wherever you live, Jesus died for *you* and forgives *you*. How wonderful!

Matthew 14

Today we read Matthew 14 and come across the famous miracle of Jesus walking on water. The disciple Peter is so amazed that he jumps out of the boat and starts to walk on water too–toward Jesus. But when he takes his eyes off Jesus, He starts to sink. Praise God that, even though we sometimes take our eyes off Jesus as well, He always has His eyes on us–forgiving us when we repent, always on our side when we are in trouble or afraid. Thank you for this, dear Jesus!

Matthew 13

Today we read Matthew 13. This chapter contains several beautiful parables. A parable is a teaching by Jesus about heaven, in which He uses earthly examples to make His instruction easier for us to understand. Sometimes He has to explain His teaching because the disciples do not understand Him at first. See the parable of the sower (teaching in verses 3-8; explanation in verses 18-23). May you be blessed by today’s teaching by Jesus and may you be His good seed (verse 23)!
