Today we read John 13. The most important section here is in verses 25-30. The most important thing is not the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot, but the Lord’s Supper that Jesus shares with the disciples. This meal, in which He gives them His true body and true blood for the forgiveness of their sins, is described in more detail in Matthew 26:26-20, in Mark 14:22-25, and in Luke 22:14-23. This is the same Lord’s Supper that Christians take today in church. We pray for the Christians in countries in which it is currently not possible for them to be baptized and receive the Lord’s Supper–that they would someday soon be able to receive these gifts of Jesus Christ!
