Today we read John 8. In verse 31, Jesus teaches that if you believe in Him and know Him as the truth, He will set you free: from the penalties of your sins, from the accusations of the devil, and from eternal separation from Him after you die. If you believe that Jesus is the light of the world, you are forgiven and will spend eternity with Jesus!
Today we read John 7. Like yesterday in John 6, our Lord today teaches us that if you thirst for the truth and the life, you will find it only in Him (7:37). Come and drink freely in His Word, the Holy Bible!
One of the most important verses in this chapter is verse 35, in which Jesus says, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” If you, who read this, believe in Jesus Christ, no more will you hunger and thirst for the truth. Jesus has led you to it–to Himself, the bread of life.
In John 5:21, Jesus teaches that He gives life to whom He will. He gives the forgiveness of sins and eternal life to you who read this and believe His Words.
